Where’s Stef?

When last I left you, I was hopeful of starting my weekend off with a bang…well, it was not much of a bang, unless you consider a blastin’ fever and terribly sore throat a bang. I’m still on the edge of recovering from this – I did go back to work yesterday but today my body got mad at me, refusing to let me get out of bed.

Saturday 2/25: Still sick as a dog – my temperature would not let up, coastin’ at about 101 deg.

Sunday 2/26: Decided to go to the urgent care clinic for some stronger meds. Got the news that it’s viral and all I can do is ride it out. Drats! Still fighting a low grade temp. Good part: Ollie visited, played a little and mum is back from my brother’s.

Monday 2/27: Got my act together and went back into the office. Got quite a bit done but still felt cruddy. “Favorite” coworker is leaving – time to have a party if you ask me. Enjoyed acupuncture but coughed half a lung up at night [might be punishment for wanting a party].

Today: Bleah but feeling a LOT better. I can’t imagine I still haven’t gotten rid of this bug. I want to be able to taste and enjoy good foods again. I have however had the luxury of homemade rice porridge, mashed potates and other healthful foods. Enjoying the Weepies very much.

Tomorrow: A better day, I am sure.

  1. Ugh! I hate when I feel a cold coming on. I try to ignore it, wishing it away, but it never works. Looks like you’re having a pretty quick turnaround. I hope you’re even better tomorrow…don’t get me started on viral vs. bacterial…In this day and age, I think there should just be something to make me feel better, no matter the infection!

Hope you get well soon! Coincidentally, there’s a flu bug going around here as well and people are taking turns falling sick. Maybe it’s a sign that you’ve been working too hard, so it’s time for a rest. Take care!

take some time for yourself and energize. This kind of thing really takes it out of you. While you’re laying down you feel like everything’s fine but upon getting up realize that is just mental image and your body hasn’t quite caught up with the mental idea yet. The flu really bites…sending you virtual hot toddies, chicken soup, matzoh balls, and great big hugs….Dee

  5. Wishing you a speedy recovery. There’s something going around, definitely. I’ve finally gotten rid of my cough that I had for 3 weeks, though still a little congested. It didn’t get too bad though, more annoying than anything. Get well soon!

  6. At least you don’t have chicken pox! Chase the bug away with loads of Vit C and fluids, Stef. And think of all the lovely things you’ll do with your garden in the spring. 🙂

  7. Get well soon, Stef! Sometimes taking time off is the only way to get better. A good homemade soup also helps. 🙂 Hugs!
